David Reid Gibson

David Reid Gibson Jr, 52, of Ashton, MD, passed away suddenly on February 13, 2018. He was born in Washington DC, in 1965, to David and Catherine Gibson.  David earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 759 of Ashton. David graduated from Sherwood High School in 1983, Capital Institute of Technology in 1987, and University of Maryland University College in 2000. Following his graduation from UMUC, David went to work as an IT professional at the Applied Physics Laboratory of the Johns Hopkins University. He is survived by his father, David R. Gibson Sr.and step-mother Jane of Falls Church, Va, his brother Michael Gibson and wife Samantha of Olney, his sisters Katherine Murphy and husband Steve of Clarksville and Patricia Dewey and husband Mike of Crofton, his nieces Emily, Lucy and Rachel, his nephews Quentin, Branden and Justin and his girlfriend Sue Doering of Eldersburg. He is preceded in death by his mother, Catherine R. Gibson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3 at 1pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home, 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029.
