Clark Robert Brill, M.D.

Dr. Clark Robert Brill, also known as Bob, Bobby, and Dad, was born on November 11, 1954 and died on November 12, 2021. He came to peace with family at his side the day after his 67th birthday.

Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA, the oldest brother of eight children. In his childhood, the family moved to Columbia, MD, where he spent most of his life and raised a family of his own. Bob was a quiet but thoughtful young man and a good brother to his many siblings. He proudly trained and served his nation as a doctor in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Lt Cdr. After his service and medical training, Bob and his colleague established Maryland Spine & Sports Medicine in Clarksville, MD. He was a well-known and beloved member of the community, often spotted working out at the Columbia Association, attending Sunday mass with his family at St. Louis Parish, or playing his guitar around town. Bob had a passion for lifelong learning and adventure. As a risk-taker, he found himself almost everywhere. Climbing far-away mountains, hang gliding with his father, and surfing with his dear friend Dave Chrest are just some of the many adventures.

He was always involved in his children’s lives, from crafting pinewood derby cars with his sons to providing medical assistance at his daughter’s Columbia Gymnastics meets. Bob’s humble humor and goofy demeanor were loved by all. Though the anecdotes could go on, it’s needless to say that Bob’s service to his family, his patients, and the surrounding communities meant the world to him. In memory of Bob: the father, partner, brother, friend, and son, please extend support to those he is survived by: his daughter, Ali Brill; his sons, Clark J. Brill and Paul Brill; his best friend and the mother of his children, Clare Widitz; his ex-wife and partner, Paula Holbrook; and his siblings, Carol Herrera, Susan Hurley, Janet Jandrositz, Mary Brill, Thomas Brill, Linda Price, and John Brill. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Clark W. Brill, and his mother, Dorothy (Dottie) Brill.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the main sanctuary of St. Louis Catholic Parish, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, Maryland 21029. Interment Private.
