Christopher “Chris” Lee Marrow February 8, 1955 – September 12, 2025

Christopher ‘Chris’ Lee Marrow, age 70, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away at home on September 12, 2025, after a life lived fully and boldly.

Born February 8, 1955, Chris was the son of Louise and Harry Marrow and grew up with his brothers, Greg and Milan, always finding ways to stir up laughter and adventure.

Chris built a lifelong career as a skilled plumbing engineer before retiring to enjoy the things that mattered most; family, travel, and life’s simple joys. He shared decades of marriage with his Middle school sweetheart, Christie, with whom he raised his pride and joy: Son, Nick Marrow (Lana) and Daughter, Katie Jones (Zach). Later in life, Chris found a loving partner in Michele, with whom he split his time between Florida and Maryland. Florida for sunny days, tiki-side margaritas, and RV living, and Maryland to stay close to the family he cherished.

Above all, Chris was a family man. He was “Grandpa” to four adoring grandchildren—Tyler, Julia, Savannah, and Hayden—who looked up to him with such admiration and love. His “third kid,” Gizmo, was his loyal dog, motorcycle-riding buddy, and faithful bar stool sidekick. Whether he was creating a special handshake dance or cracking crabs with Katie, or hitting the open road on his Harley with Nick (and Gizmo tagging along), Chris lived and loved life fiercely, leaving behind memories as bold as he was.

Chris was unapologetically himself: funny, strong-willed, and never afraid to stomp to the beat of his own drum. He loved the outdoors, Harley rides, game shows, road trips, being the ultimate handy-man, and laughing with his friends and family.

An intimate family viewing will be held, and a celebration of life will take place in early October (details forthcoming) to honor the laughter, love, and unforgettable presence Chris brought to the world.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chris’s honor to the Breakthrough T1D , an organization close to his story as he bravely battled Type 1 diabetes since his youth.

Chris will be remembered not only as an amazing father, grandfather, son, brother, partner, and friend, but as a one-of-a-kind soul who brought warmth, humor, and adventure to all who knew him. Ride free with the angels, Dad.
