Charlotte May Redman (née Hiett), age 86, of Clarksville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025.
Charlotte was born November 21, 1939 in Laurel, Maryland, daughter of Charles Leslie Hiett and Alice Mae Marton Hiett. She spent much of her life in Laurel and Clarksville, MD, where she built a home centered on family, service, and community. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.
Charlotte was married for 65 years to her devoted husband, Elza K. Redman. Together, they raised a loving family and created a home that welcomed everyone. Charlotte was a loving sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was truly “Mom” to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Elza Redman; her four children, Keith Redman, Kevin Redman, Terri Taylor and her husband John Taylor, and Mark Redman and his wife Samantha Redman. She was a proud grandmother of ten grandchildren, Jenna Nagoda, Matthew Taylor, Cody Taylor, Joni Nichols, Lucas Redman, Nicholas Redman, Cameron Redman, Gemma Hunt, Christopher Hunt, Holly Redman and cherished great-grandmother of eight great-grandchildren, Raelynn Taylor, Charlotte Taylor, Wyatt Taylor, William Nagoda, Jackson Nagoda, Cole Nagoda, Bennett Nichols and Mason Redman.
Service to others was central to Charlotte’s life. She was deeply committed to serving others and volunteered for many years throughout the community, including the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Howard County Fire and Rescue Auxiliary, Safe Kids Howard County, Howard Squadron Civil Air Patrol, and as a Howard County school volunteer.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation will on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A (12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029).
The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A. Interment will immediately follow the service at Maryland National Memorial Park (13300 Baltimore Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707
