On Saturday, March 2, 2019, Charles S. Kanach died from complications of cancer, surrounded by his wife Leacy Kanach, his brother David Kanach with his wife Paula and brother-in-law Yank Shugg.

Chuck is also survived by his nephews Matthew Kanach, Scott Kanach and Will Shugg, and his grandniece Matilda Shugg.
