Cecelia Locicero

Cecelia Ann LoCicero, 86, passed away in Columbia, Maryland at Gilchrist Hospice Center on August 30, 2024 with her husband and family by her side.

She was the loving wife of Dr. Donald LoCicero with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Queens, NY on March 1, 1938, Cecelia was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Philomena Molfetto. She was a graduate of Cedar Creat College with a BA in English. She moved to Allentown Pennsylvania in 1966, where she then spent 49 years raising her family and serving as a special needs paraprofessional. She was a passionate advocate for women’s rights, environmental protection, racial equality and the eradication of childhood disease and poverty. She and her husband enjoyed traveling the world and experiencing other cultures. In recent years, Cecelia and her husband retired to Maryland in order to be close to their son and family.

Cecelia is survived by her husband Donald, son Darius and his wife Mandy, as well as her granddaughter Giada.

A private family burial service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Allentown, PA followed by a memorial dinner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Gilchrist Hospice (Columbia, MD), Planned Parenthood and/or World Central Kitchen.
