It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Lou Clarice Anderson announce her passing on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at the age of 93 years. Betty Lou will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Donald Anderson (Martha), Susan Cinotti (John) and Sally Linzau (Haryl). Betty Lou was a devoted grandmother to five grandchildren who loved her dearly, Tayler Fischer (Bradley), John III and Griffen Cinotti, Jason and Amanda Linzau, and, one great-grandchild that lit up her life, Bryson Thomas. She was also much loved by her niece Kandee MacQueeen and family, Corey, Kate and Jaharious. Betty Lou is predeceased in death by the love of her life, Ronald Anderson, and was blessed with a wonderful marriage of 60 years.
Betty Lou earned a BSN from Union College, Lincoln, Nebraska. She worked in nursing both clinically and in education for nearly 40 years. For many years, she served as the Level I chairperson, coordinating the curriculum for all freshman classes in the nursing program at Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was devoted to her work and her students.
Betty Lou was a devout member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and she so enjoyed her sewing group at Spencerville Church. She loved to laugh and spend time with her friends and family. She enjoyed playing “Hand and Foot” card game with her beloved friends. She was also a five star “Cribbage” player, conquering her family, grandchildren and their significant others often. She will be so great missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 2PM at Spencerville Adventist Church, 16325 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20905.
In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to The“Keep in Stitches” Sewing Group of the Spencerville Adventist Church.
