Arthur Allen Carter

On August 28, 2022, Arthur A. Carter, 62, of Fulton, Maryland, passed away. He was born in 1960 to James and Marjorie Carter in Detroit, Michigan. Arthur graduated from Michigan State University in 1984 with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for both the Department of Defense and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, retiring in 2019. Some of Arthur’s favorite activities included cycling, hiking, camping, backpacking, skiing, woodworking, gardening, and baking. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Carter; two children, Eric and Kayla Carter; sister, Doris (Richard) Clements; three brothers, Robert (Louise), William (Mary), and Walter Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marjorie Carter, and brother, Wayne (Linda) Carter.

A Celebration of Life, and reception will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Appalachian Mountain Club, Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, Bike Maryland, or National Public Radio.
