Alice Marie Wood

Alice Marie Wood, age 70, of Ashton, MD, passed away on May 26th, 2025. She was born in Edwardsville, Kansas, to the late Lloyd Sr. and Ruth Forester (Purtee). She graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1973 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Kansas.

Alice began her career in sales at IBM before choosing to focus on raising her children in 1990. Later in life, she earned a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and dedicated herself to counseling, where she found purpose in supporting and guiding others through life’s challenges.

Alice found great joy in music and cherished her time playing in the handbell choir at Oakdale Emory United Methodist and St. Paul’s United Methodist churches. She loved spending time with family, dancing, gardening, and attending social gatherings. A devoted animal lover, Alice had a special place in her heart for pets of all kinds. One of her favorite pastimes was playing Bunco with a close-knit group of dear friends, a tradition that brought her much laughter and connection.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Diane Toland, and her brother Lloyd Forester, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward, and her three sons: Timothy (Victoria), Kevin, and Brian.

A visitation with the family will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 21st, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A. in Clarksville, MD.

A graveside service and burial will take place on Saturday, June 28 at 1:00 PM at Edwardsville Cemetery in Kansas.
