Albert Edeze Bikim transitioned into the hands of the Lord on Thursday October 10th, 2024, from cardiac arrest. Albert was born on December 8,1970, in Kelle Ndongond, Cameroon where he was raised and attended the local elementary school. Albert was the son of Lucile Bikim who passed away three years and 8 months ago (2/2021).
Albert was a highly trained auto mechanic who started working at a young age in Cameroon. He was devoted to his profession and enjoyed working on cars. He worked many years for Shell corporation in Cameroon before he departed to the USA in 2003. Contrary to many African people who migrate to US, Albert did not have a difficult time to integrate due to his technical skills. The first job of Albert came less than a month upon his arrival. He was introduced to a Nigerian dealer Elias by my good Oladikum. Albert collaborated with Elias for a few years until he opened his own shop.
Due to long distance relationships and life circumstances, Albert divorced his wife Louise Kimen, the mother of his two kids Samuel and Lucile and married Saifa Poole. Despite separation Mr. Bikim did not failed his responsibility to take care of Louise and the children. With Saifa at his side, they were able to bring Samuel and Lucile to the US, where both children continued their education. As majority African men, Albert was involved in the lives of his many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunties etc.
Mr. Bikim was a hardworking man and at times very funny. He was outgoing and created relationships with people from all spectrums of the world. He was generous to a fault, fixing a lot of cars for free in the African community of DMV. He loved his family and friends, unfortunately at the end of his life many people who he worked for were nowhere to be found.
Albert was a devoted brother, father, grandfather as well as a dedicated, loving friend. He is survived by his two kids; Samuel Bikim, Lucile Bikim, Samuel's Wife; Michele, his sister; Sophie Paule Ngo Mbock, and his brother; John Bikim. He was adored and will be missed greatly by his multiple nephews and nieces; Cathy & Derick, Gaelle, Rodrigue, Etienne, John M and Whitney, Dylan, John Paul, Ariane-Cainell, Michael, and Salomon as well as his two grandchildren; Sky and Rose Bikim.
On his behalf I would like to say thank you to the couple Paul and Helene Dengoue Fansi who were instrumental in his life in Cameroon as well as his departure to America. I will extend the same thanks to Mr. Oladikum who introduced him to the Nigerian community on his arrival to the states. I have no words to describe the assistance that Albert received from his faithful friend, Mr. Toure Morifere who was among the last person to see Albert before he retired from this World. This is the same feeling for Emerson and his family. For my family members, I would like to thank my niece Cathy, who was regularly checking on her uncle and making sure some of his financial needs were taken care of. I thank his friend, Gabriel Nyobe, who was with him all the time.
To my better half Nadine Bikim and Mother Chantal only GOD will reward you for your presence in my life. There are a few wives that could have accepted a brother-in-law to leave permanently with them for that many years. May God almighty continue to guide all of you and support you in all your projects.
My brother spent his last 8 years with me in Ashton. I love my brother unconditional, and I have tried everything in my power to save his life, unfortunately God decided otherwise. On Thursday October 10, 2024 @ 17:17 I said goodbye to my only living brother. Let’s us pray for his soul to be accepted in the kingdom of GOD.
NB: I quote Albert “la vie est vanités des vanités’’
Thank you ALL…
