Aaron Jay Schmier

Aaron Schmier, affectionately known as AJ, passed away in Olney, Maryland at 63.

Born February 21, 1963, in Indiana, he was the son of Alex and Joan Schmier. He graduated from Northwood High School in 1981, before beginning his career in sales. AJ was a beloved high school and travel softball coach, receiving the “Coach of the Year” award in 2015.

AJ is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jeanie Schmier; children, Jaime and Jacob Schmier; mother, Joan Schmier; sister, Phyllis Borreda; and brothers-in-law, Eitan Borreda and John McCutcheon. He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Schmier.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 10:00am at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville located at 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, Maryland 21029.

AJ will be remembered as a lifetime Miami Dolphins fan and for being the best father, husband, and softball coach.
