Robert P. Corcoran, 88, of Fulton, MD died January 3, 2019, at the Gilchrist Center Howard County, in Columbia, MD. Robert was born August 18, 1930, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. where he graduated from Forty Fort High School in 1948. In April 1951, he enlisted in the United States Army and was discharged April 1953 with the rank of Corporal. In 1954, he moved to the Washington, D.C. area and in 1955, became a Courier for the Central Intelligence Agency. During his thirty three years of service, his duties included delivering documents to the White House and the United States Capitol. For five of his thirty three years, he made regular courier runs to New York City. Since he was a friendly and outgoing person, he made many friends among the members of the White House and U.S. Capitol Police Forces. In his retirement, he enjoyed visiting friends in California and Texas. Robert was also an ardent Redskins fan.
Robert is survived by his brother, Charles J. Corcoran, of Fulton, MD, nephews John Corcoran, David Corcoran, Thomas Corcoran and nieces Barbara Pindell and Mary Ellen Carter and He was predeceased in death by his brothers, Francis, Thomas and Gordon.
