Michael John Walker, age 64, passed away October 30, 2019 after a brave battle against cancer. He was born and raised in Wheaton, Maryland and was the son of the late C. A. Billy Walker and Theresa Camille Henley Walker. Michael lived in Dayton, Maryland for the past 37 years. Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family and pets. He was an active outdoorsman and camper, a member of AmVets Post 2 and the Dayton Rod & Gun Club. Michael was also a drummer and played in bands like Bad Moon Rising and Pikesville Rye. He was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and the Heartland Camping Club. Michael was an incredibly loving, loyal, hardworking, compassionate, generous and truly kind man.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife Rebecca Custer Walker, sister Patricia Maiolo (Patrick), brother Bill Walker (Charles Best), son Robert Walker, stepdaughters Diane McIntyre (Russell), Stacy Larson, Kathy Champa, Erica Lewellyn, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many other family members and lifelong friends. He was predeceased by Ann Tierney Walker.
Visitations will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029 on Monday, November 11 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Louis Catholic Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029 on Tuesday, November 12, at 12 noon. Interment private.
