Kae Shaw, 88 years old, journeyed on to heaven on March 30th, 2019. Kae was born in Mishima City, Japan on Feb. 26, 1931 to parents Kaichi Yagome (father) and Sato Murofushi (mother.)
Kae grew up during World War II but as a young teen, she dreamed of one day going to America to live, a dream that she shared to her friends. Her dream became a reality when she married SFC Glenn A. Shaw in 1954. Together they came back to America where she underwent the five year process to become a citizen. Kae knew and respected American history. She enjoyed crocheting and made a blanket for each of her five children. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family and her meals were often a delicious introduction to Japanese food for many. She was an avid collector of Japanese Kokeshi dolls and pottery. In her later years, she became a Christian and enjoyed reading the Bible.
Kae is survived by her five children, Marye Williams, Sumiko Shaw, Donald A. Shaw, David J. Shaw and Robert G. Shaw, as well as nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn A. Shaw who passed on Nov. 9, 1975.
A private memorial service will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, Maryland.
