Alicia Paez Obituary

There's not enough words I can say about what Mami Cita means to us, so I'm going to have my Lord and Savior guide me and help me to try and get the words out. I took a moment to share with my kids, nieces and nephews that she left a very comfortable life in Ecuador 50 years ago to help her daughter who was expecting her 1st born child, yours truly and since then she's been a 2nd mom to 4 grand children, 8 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. She gave up everything for us! Furthermore during that time in this country there wasn't many jobs for a Spanish speaking woman new to this country so she went from having house keepers to cleaning other people's houses all to help and support her blind husband and newlywed daughter and son in law. Imagine that for a minute.

Never once she complained about what she gave up in fact this is what true love is! Outside of that she loved sewing, cooking and plants and flowers and watching her novela's.
I can't even count how many times we had a chankla or aji put in our mouth for being bad. Sometimes it was just a look, una mirada. She was the enforcer, but always with Love, grace and mercy! THESSALONIANS 5:18“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Lord, we want to take time to say thank You. We are grateful for who You are and how Your presence has given us life. No matter what our circumstances look like from day to day, we give You thanks. To say that we are nothing without You is an understatement. We are less than that. Yet, despite our nature, You choose to invade our lives and you seek to be one with us. You choose to bless us and You choose to love us—thank You. You start us afresh and grant us new mercies. Thank You that we do not have to work for Your love! Thank You for life and the wonderful life you gave her!
