Mary Louise (Alvarez) Segura

Mary Louise Segura passed away peacefully on March 24, 2020.  Mary was born in  Detroit, Michigan on December 29, 1930, to Guadalupe and Theresa Alvarez.  She attended Western High School in Detroit, Michigan where she met and married her sweetheart, William Abraham Segura.  For 72 years she was a devoted wife, as well as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Mary Segura was an avid reader with a lively intellect who also loved music and Latin dance.  Family was always Mary’s passion.  She instilled in each of her children and grandchildren a belief that they could accomplish anything through hard work and education.  She encouraged all of the family members to pursue higher education.  Her warmth and compassion will be greatly missed.  

Mary is survived by her husband and three daughters: Genevieve G. Segura, Mary Louise (Segura) Stoecker Watts, and Ann B. Segura; four granddaughters, one grandson, and two great grandchildren.  She will join her beloved Son, William Segura Jr., who passed away at age 24 years in 1974.

She’ll always be in our thoughts & prayers.

A Memorial Mass  will be offered  on Friday August 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 530 Elizabeth Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48104. Following Mass we will proceed to the Saint Thomas Catholic Cemetery, 300 Sunset Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48103.

We invite everyone to join us for a memorial luncheon following the burial service where we will gather to celebrate Mary's life and to share some of our favorite memories, our stories, to laugh, to cry and remember a wonderful person who is greatly missed. 

We offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who provided support for us during our bereavement. We have truly appreciated your thoughtfulness.
