On February 17, 2019, DeWitte Myles Boyer, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.
DeWitte was born on January 17, 1941 in Columbiaville, Michigan to the late Dudley and Bettye Boyer. He served in the Vietnam War, 1st infantry, as a SP4 E-4 and had the responsibility of protecting the Lt. Colonel John Hougen, He was awarded several badges and medals.
In 1966 he married the love his life, Sandra I. Anders and together they would raise two girls Debbie and Tammy. DeWitte loved spending time with his family, whether it was holidays, going on vacations or attending their grandchildren’s basketball and baseball games. He enjoyed hanging out with friends, watching NASCAR, pampering his own cars, and going on cruises. He also made many lifelong friends during his career before retiring as a General Manager from Westinghouse/Frigidaire.
DeWitte is survived by his beloved wife Sandy Boyer, his daughters Debbie Gordon (with her husband Chris) and Tammy Boyer; and his 4 grandchildren, CJ and Laura Gordon and Travis and Holly Hatcher. He is also survived by his brother Clark Boyer (with his wife Sandy) and his sister Mary Lou Poe. He is predeceased by his parents and most recently his close friend and brother in law, Hubert Poe.
Relatives and friends may visit Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike on Thursday, February 21 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, February 22 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
